This is a helmet plate, that was worn until 1912 on a brass trimmed foot troop leather spiked helmet by the Flugel Adjutanten to the prince of Lippe-Detmolld . The helmet plate was based on the standard Prussian line eagle with “KOENIG” on the motto banner. The eagle was brass with a silver eight pointed star on its chest. At the center of the star is a red ring encircling the Lippe coat of arms-rose. The detail and the finish on this very rare plate show some age, but are still crisp with excellent detail.

Wappens like these are an exceptional addition to a headdress collection. You will seldom find wappens such as these as they are highly prized.
