Each recap page features a war communiqué number and date, along with the day’s important news. This particular communiqué is number 1118, which is dated 17 February 1917. The day’s biggest news was that German U-Boots had sunk a combined 51,800 tons of shipping. It appears that all of the ships sunk were merchant ships. The page’s top sports a kriegsflagge. Its bottom shows a German warship in profile steaming through the water. The document is in excellent condition.
