This is a plaquette for a participant in a regatta for young people. The plaquette measures 2 5/8″ x 1 5/8.” It has a black frame with a silvered metal center. At the top of the plaquette is the event’s date, 12 September 1915. In the silvered area we see a 1914 Iron Cross and “Riemen-Zweier.” Below that in the black area are the words “Jungdeutschland Kriegsregatta.” It is heartening to see that the young people kept up their sporting activities, AND managed to show their patriotism at the same time!
