This is an interesting, unusual photo pendant of Kaiser Friedrich III. In Germany, Friedrich III is referred to as the “ninety-nine day Kaiser,” as he survived his father and reigned for less than three months. [The result was that within the span of ninety-nine days, Germany had three different kaisers]. The petite, silver-toned pendant has a semiprecious red jasper stone affixed to its reverse. An eagle perches atop the pendant. It is an appealing piece that would be great for an avid collector of Kaiser Friedrich III memorabilia, or as a new collector’s first piece.
