Description
This pendant features the likenesses of Kaiser Wilhelm I, Germany’s first Kaiser, on one side, and his son, Kaiser Friedrich III, on the other side. It is probable that Friedrich Wilhelm was still Kronprinz when this pendant was produced. The pendant measures 3/4″ in diameter. It is quite attractive and in excellent condition. Both men are in uniform. Beveled glass covers each of their photographs. This is a very early patriotic piece, that most likely dates from the 1870 through 1885-period. Friedrich III succeeded his father for only one-hundred-days. In a space of approximately one-hundred-days, Germany had THREE Kaisers: Wilhelm I, Friedrich III, and Wilhelm II.
