Description
This postcard shows Admiral Eduard von Knorr (1840-1920). Von Knorr was one of the few Navy officers to receive the 1870 Iron Cross 2nd Class during the 1870-1871 Franco-Prussian War. He commanded a small gunboat that battled a French vessel. He was instrumental in the creation of Germany’s Pacific colonies.
