This postcard shows Prinz Leopold of Bavaria 1846-1930). In addition to being a royal during WW I, he was a very able commander. He was promoted to Generalfeldmarschall in 1906. During WW I, he was one of the German Army’s most decorated officers. He received both the Pour le Mérite and the Oak Leaves to the PLM. His image on the postcard comes from a painting. The postcard was mailed in 1917 and has three stamps.
