Description
This is a postcard of the Captain of the S. M. S. Möwe, Graf zu Dohna-Schlodien. Under his command, the S. M. S. Möwe was the most successful Auxiliary Cruiser of WW I, sinking thirty-eight ships. The S. M. S. Möwe was, in fact, a converted freighter. After the war it was given to the British, who later sold it back to the Germans, who used it in WW II, until it was sunk in 1945! Whew!
