Description
This postcard shows Kapitän zur See Andreas Fischer, along with his staff. While I have done research on Fischer, I can find little information on him beyond that he was an early war hero while commanding the Light Cruiser S.M.S. Augsburg. He was involved in the early war bombardment of a city with his vessel. He apparently achieved the rank of Admiral during WW I. We have another postcard that shows him shortly after his action with the S.M.S. Augsburg. I wish I could share more with you, but this is the limit of my information. The postcard was not mailed.
