Description
This is a postcard of the Minelayer S. M. S. Nautilus. She was commissioned in 1907 following the successful use of mines during the Russo-Japanese War. During WW I she undertook minelaying operations in the North Sea against England, as well as off the Baltic Sea against the Russians. The postcard shows her steaming in profile near a wharf. It has never been used.
