Description
During WW I, three German royals were considered very able military commanders. All held the rank of Generalfeldmarschall and commanded Armee-Gruppen. They included Herzog Albrecht of Württemberg, Kronprinz Rupprecht of Bavaria, and Prinz Leopold of Bavaria. Today we are offering a postcard of Prinz Leopold in uniform. He was one of the five men (including Kaiser Wilhelm II) who received the 1914 Grand Cross of the Iron Cross. This was mailed as a Feldpostkarte in 1916.
