Description
This postcard shows Augusta Viktoria (1858-1921), wife of Kaiser Wilhelm II (1859-1941), along with two of her children. We see her only daughter, Viktoria Luise (1892-1980), who became the Duchess of Braunschweig in 1913 when she married Duke Ernst August (1887-1953). Also present is Prinz Joachim (1890-1920) the Kaiser and Kaiserin’s youngest child. He became depressed after his father’s abdication in 1918 and his divorce in 1920, and committed suicide.
