Description
This postcard shows one of Kaiser Wilhelm II’s sons. Adalbert was the only son to serve in the Kaiserliche Marine. He is wearing the Marine-Infanterie’s feldgrau uniform, complete with the schirmütze. In addition to being a naval officer, he ranked as a Marine-Infanterie Major. This provides a wonderful uniform study for the evolution of what had been the See-Bataillon. The postcard was not mailed.
