This is a postcard of the S.M.Y. Meteor. Kaiser Wilhelm II had a lifelong interest in the sea. He kept several yachts at his disposal. The S.M.Y. Hohenzollern was a large motorized yacht that took the Kaiser all over Europe. Another of his yachts was the sailing ship S.M.Y. Meteor. The Kaiser enjoyed sailboat racing. He was the Kaiserlicher Yacht Club’s leading member.
