POSTCARD – U-1

$25.00

This is a fascinating postcard of the U-1, Germany’s first U-Boot. She was launched in 1906 and saw NO action during WW I. She was used as a training boat, however. She is shown sailing into Kiel’s harbor. She was scrapped after the war, but was saved for display. Today, she appears in Munich’s Deutsche Museum. Its side has been cut out for better viewing, as visitors are not allowed onto it. The card sports two small bends in its upper left and right corners. It was mailed in 1908.
