Prussia’s Prinz Louis Ferdinand (1907-1994) was Kronprinz Wilhelm’s second son. He became the Kronprinz when his older brother, Wilhelm, renounced his claim to Germany’s throne in 1933. Louis Ferdinand married Grand Duchess Kira Kirillovna (1909-1967) in 1938. The first ceremony was Russian Orthodox and took place in Potsdam. The second ceremony was a Lutheran ceremony that took place at Haus Doorn in the Netherlands. Haus Doorn was Kaiser Wilhelm II’s (Prinz Louis Ferdinand’s grandfather) place of exile.
