PRUSSIA – SALT AND PEPPER DECORATIVE CONTAINER – FEATURING FREDERICK THE GREAT

This is a colorful representation of King Frederick the Great riding a horse through a wooded area. I see at least five colors throughout the presentation.

This is really quite clever as the top half which includes Frederick the Great and his horse separates from the bottom. In the bottom of the container we see a pepper shaker and a salt pot. At the bottom half we see a small stress crack. This is not seen on the exterior.

One other observation. There is a tree behind Frederick the Great and the trunk is open. I am thinking that a small spoon was once there to scoop out the salt that was in the pot. If that is correct the spoon is no longer available.
Overall the condition of this container is very good and the colors remain vibrant.

Frederick II, known as Frederick the Great, was Prussia’s king from 1740 to 1786. By winning wars and expanding territories, he established Prussia as a strong military power.
