$65.00

PRUSSIA – SANKE CARD NR 512 – LEUTNANT KARL EMIL SCHÄFER.

Karl Emil Schäfer was one of Jasta 11’s leading pilots during 1917’s infamous “Bloody April.” He then was transferred to command Jasta 28. He shot down thirty enemy planes before being killed in June 1917. He had been awarded the Orden Pour le Mérite before his death. Today we are offering Schäfer’s Sanke Card Nr 512. He is standing near the wing of an aircraft. This may have taken place while he was with Jasta 11 since he is not wearing a PLM.
