Description
Presenting a rare piece of history from the Prussian Reserve Pionier-Regiment, this schirmütze is a true gem for collectors. The all-blue cap includes a wide band with three red trim bands – two above and below the wide band and a third at the top. The correct kokarden for Prussia and the Reich are in place, and the cap also features a fine black visor.
The interior of the schirmütze boasts a complete brown leather sweatband with some cracking and lifting. An oval-shaped button with the officer’s last name initial “O” is also attached to the sweatband. Additionally, the silk liner is in excellent condition and has information about the maker/seller of the cap.
Although there is evidence of moth nips and tracking on the top of the schirmütze, there are no signs of mothing on the sides of the cap.
