This is a Sanke card of Leutnant Gustav Leffers (1895-1916). After receiving his pilot training and being posted to single seaters in FFA 32 he achieved a total of nine victories and was awarded the PLM in November 1916. He was killed in action a month later. In this studio pose Leffers is standing and wearing his schirmütze. On his tunic we see his 1914 iron Cross 1st Class and his Prussian Pilot Badge. He has yet not been awarded the PLM. The postcard was not mailed.
