Description
This is Sanke Card Nr 378 featuring PLM-winning pilot Kurt Wintgens (1894-1916). Wintgens was the 4th pilot to win the PLM after his 8th air victory. He went on to achieve nineteen victories before he was shot down and killed in September 1916. The postcard has a reproduction of his signature on its obverse. If we examine the reverse, we see that it was mailed as a Feldpostkarte by a man assigned to Flieger-Abteilung Nr 280.
