Description
This is a very interesting letter opener that is shaped like a curved sword. It has a white and brown stag handle that measures 2 3/4” x 1/2.” It features a brass cross guard. The blade measures 4 3/4” x 1/2.” The blade is also made of brass. One side reads “Weltkrieg 14-18.” The other side states “Mb German Prisoner.” The information engraved on the blade is what I call “field engraved,” meaning it was hand-done by the man, not professionally engraved by a jeweler. The overall length of the letter opener measures 7.”
