U.S. – BINOCULARS – ARMY – SIGNAL CORP – WW I ERA

This pair of binoculars dates from WW I and is the type used by the U.S. Army Signal Corps. The binoculars  are officer’s quality. They are black metal with brown, leather-wrapped grips. To the eyepiece’s left are the words “Military Stereo 8x 30.” To the eyepiece’s right are the words “U.S. Navy Gun Factory, Optical Shop Annex, Rochester, NY USA.” Underneath, it is marked “Signal Corps, U.S. Army” and “Serial No EE 64640.”  A leather strap is attached. It also has a brown leather case. Inside the case’s lid is another marking for “U.S. Naval Gun Factory, Optical Annex Shop, Rochester, N.Y.” It is an interesting example that is ready for display.
