BAVARIA – MEDAL – COMMEMORATIVE – PRINZ REGENT LUITPOLD
Prinz Regent Luitpold Commemorative Medal, celebrating his 80th birthday and his 25th year as Bavaria’s ruler. (He took over for Ludwig II when the latter was judged incompetent to rule Bavaria). The medal is circular and measures 1 1/4″ in diameter. It has a gold finish. The obverse features Luitpold in a profile view. The reverse has information about the two occasions being celebrated. The decoration was issued in 1911. The medal comes on a green and red ribbon that is tied in a bow, indicating that it was awarded to a woman.
